Manchester is a city built on rivers, and Old Trafford sits close to one of the oldest of them — the Irwell. This shirt puts that river on the fabric.
The base is royal blue — a nod to the blue kits United wore in the late 1980s, when blue first became part of the club's away identity. A wavy stripe pattern runs across the shirt, designed to mimic the flow of the Irwell as it winds through Manchester.
