Nineteen ninety-one. Adidas designed one of the most divisive, most loved, most instantly-recognisable away shirts in football history: the Bruised Banana. Yellow base, black-and-navy zig-zag graphic, and a piece of design so bold it defined an entire generation of Arsenal fans. Thirty-five years later, they’ve flipped it.
This is that shirt in reverse.
The base is Collegiate Navy — the exact deep blue that used to be the accent colour on the original. And the yellow that used to be the base is now the accent — running through the logos, the collar trim, the sleeve cuffs. Red details tie it back to Arsenal’s identity. It’s the Bruised Banana turned inside out, which somehow makes it feel newer than the original ever did.
The Adidas Trefoil returns on the chest, replacing the modern Performance mark — the same logo Ian Wright and Tony Adams wore on the 91-93 original.
