The 10 Best Football Kits of the 2026-27 Season
Quick Summary
Player Version is the most premium, authentic jersey closest to what footballers wear on the pitch. Fan Version is the comfortable, everyday option built for casual wear. Neither is "better" — it depends on how you'll wear it.
Some seasons the kits are safe. This wasn't one of them.
2026-27 gave us a Barça shirt built around Kobe Bryant, Real Madrid in pink, Manchester United covered in roses, and City wearing a swarm of bees. We look at a lot of jerseys. This is the most interesting run of designs in years.
Here's our ranking, and why.
1. FC Barcelona Away
Black fading into Field Purple, with gold detailing running through it. It's the Kobe Bryant collaboration, and unlike most brand collabs it actually commits — the fade, the snakeskin texture in the knit, and a Mamba quote hidden inside the collar.
A club shirt that works as a piece of clothing on its own is rare. This is one. Shop the Barça Away →
2. Real Madrid Third
Madrid in rich pink, with geometric textures engineered into the fabric and off-white trim on the V-neck and cuffs.
Pink on a Madrid shirt shouldn't work. It absolutely does. The texture is what saves it — up close there's a lot going on that you don't see in photos. Shop the Madrid Third →
3. Manchester United Third
Ivory, with hand-drawn rose illustrations woven directly into the fabric. Maroon on the crest and trims for Manchester's red brick, green on the stripes for the city's doors.
This is the most thoughtful kit of the season. Every colour choice points at something real about the city. Shop the United Third →
4. Manchester City Away
Bold black and yellow, covered in a swarm of worker bees.
The Manchester bee has been on the city's coat of arms since the 1800s. Putting a swarm of them across an away shirt is the kind of confident, slightly mad decision more clubs should make. Shop the City Away →
5. Juventus Away
Soft pink, with a tonal zebra pattern engineered into the fabric and black at the collar and cuffs.
Here's the bit most people don't know: pink isn't a marketing choice for Juventus. It's where they started. The club's original shirts in 1897 were pink — the black and white stripes came later. This is a return, not a gimmick. Shop the Juventus Away →
6. Arsenal Away
Collegiate Navy with an engineered geometric graphic in yellow, reversing the 1991-93 "Bruised Banana."
Reissuing a famous kit is easy. Inverting it and keeping it recognisable is harder, and they pulled it off. Shop the Arsenal Away →
7. AC Milan Away
White, with gold detailing and a laurel wreath wrapping the badge. A phoenix wing emerges from the weave of the fabric, and inside the collar sits the Greek phrase Δύναμη Ψυχής — "strength of spirit."
Istanbul 2005 was Milan's worst night. Athens 2007 was the answer. This shirt is about the second one. Shop the Milan Away →
8. FC Barcelona Third
Green Frost and Dusty Cactus, split down the middle by a vertical zigzag, with a Loyal Blue V-neck.
A direct nod to the mid-1990s Kappa teal kits. If you were around for those, this one hits differently. Shop the Barça Third →
9. Real Madrid Away
Dark green with off-white detailing and a bespoke tonal pattern.
Green pulled from the crown in the crest — the detail nobody notices until it's the whole shirt. Restrained, expensive-looking, and the kind of kit that ages well. Shop the Madrid Away →
10. Manchester City Third
White with a two-tone sash down the centre, split between sky blue and navy.
It earns its place for how it was made rather than how it looks. Over 180,000 fans submitted designs and a global vote picked the winner — a City supporter called Elliott, who made it on his lunch break. First time a professional kit has been designed this way. Shop the City Third →
Honourable mentions
- Spain's two-star home shirt. Not a design story — a history one. Spain beat Argentina 1–0 in the 2026 World Cup final for a second title, and the crest now carries two stars. They'll never wear a one-star shirt again. Shop the Spain two-star →
- Liverpool Away. White with a pattern taken from historic Anfield match tickets. Quiet, and better in person. Shop the Liverpool Away →
- Bayern Munich Home. Red-on-red tonal pinstripes with gold at the collar — the first gold on a Bayern home shirt since 2011-13. Shop the Bayern Home →
