Nineteen seventy-three. A Parisian fashion designer named Daniel Hechter drew a single red-and-white stripe down the centre of a blue football shirt. Fifty-three years later, that stripe is still the most recognisable thing PSG have ever worn. This is the season it goes home again.
The Hechter stripe is back — and this time, wider than it’s been in years. Nike centred everything inside it: the club crest, the Swoosh, even the Qatar Airways sponsor. The whole identity of the shirt sits on that band. It’s PSG stripped back to the one thing they can’t get wrong.
The blue itself changes too — a lighter, brighter Old Royal replacing the darker navy of recent seasons. Fresh, alive, closer to the palette of the club’s earliest years.
Then the detail nobody sees until they own it. Inside the collar, a stitched line: Fiers de nos couleurs. Proud of our colours.
After years of experiments, this is Paris going back to the source — and remembering that the best design in club football history is theirs.
