Powder Plum. Yes, really.

Newcastle went somewhere nobody expected for the 26/27 third — a soft light purple, officially called Powder Plum, with sharp dark purple picking out the crest, the adidas logo, the shoulder stripes and the collar trim.

What makes it work is what's not there. No underlying graphic, no pattern, no texture print. Just a clean block of colour and contrast trim. In a season where every club is printing something into the fabric, Newcastle did the opposite.

Easily the most wearable shirt they've made in years, and the one people will ask you about.

365 Insight: This is Newcastle's first proper go at light purple. They wore a deep violet away shirt back in 2008-09, but that was a dark, heavy colour — nothing like this. Seventeen years apart and they're barely the same idea.
